Semana Santa - Cuenca - a story about a family
Saturday, June 10, 2017
After a very long and intense day in Toledo we arrived late to Cuenca. My father was so tired, that he just wanted to sleep. So I went with my mother to see the procession. The streets were full of people waiting.
When I saw a boy with his father, I could not stop staring at them. The feelings on his face were telling more than the words. I just wanted to be closer, greedy to see, to listen and to know more.
The boy was walking together with his father in the procession, holding his hand all the time. He did not think about the crowd and suddenly his face changed. He was surprised or even shocked.
His father was talking with him and I could see that the boy did not agree with what he said, but he was still holding his hand.
After a few minutes the child´s face changed again and I could see the smile and joy.
Then his mother appeared and the whole family went away with the procession. I wanted to follow them, but I could not. I was at the stairs looking at ¨my family¨ passing by.
I will never forget this emotions that accompanied me at this time. I felt like a spectator that was watching an amazing movie.
